This is Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman, straddled on the Batpod in Christopher Nolan’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.
Back in June, there was a report that Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman would likely look something like Darwyn Cooke’s version of the character seen during Ed Brubaker’s comic book run. That’s evidently not true. But from that same report came a description of the costume from someone inside the film’s production. They described it like so:
"Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies. She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber."
As it turns out, that’s actually pretty accurate.
The photo was sent along with a release confirming the cast including Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner with Michael Shannon as General Zod and Antje Traue as Faora.
We haven’t had an update on the promised new EVIL DEAD film in about six months now, and most would assume that such a thing would mean it isn’t happening. But as it turns out, there is actual movement now on the fourth film, as according to Dread Central, production might actually be spooling up.
At this point in time, we’ve seen just about every comic book to ever be created, come to life. If you’re trying to figure out what has been done over the years, I suggest you go ahead and make a list of films that haven’t been done instead… it would be much shorter. I love comic book movies. I can guarantee that if there is a comic book movie coming out, there is about a 99% chance that I want to see it. I’m almost always disappointed with how it turns out, but lately, comic book movies have been getting better.
With that being said, there are virtually no female comic book heroes being put on the big screen. I mean, we had Elektra, but she was a joke, right?
While we anxiously await the first trailer due later this week, here’s the clever teaser poster for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. Looks like our hero is going to have a seriously seismic problem with the various rogues this time around.
"If you’ve been reading the site long enough, you know that I’m not much of a LORD OF THE RINGS fanboy. More power to you Tolkeinites, it’s just not in my DNA. So I’ll just trust that this first pic of the dwarves - Nori, Ori and Dori - from THE HOBBIT is kind of a big deal”
Empire has THE HOBBIT as its next cover story, and to promote that they’re trickling out a few new promo images from the film.
Yes, they’re very, very similar to the ones EW had a little while ago, but for Hobbit fans, anything remotely new is still something to salivate over. We still have Bilbo (Martin Freeman) reading something, but now he’s facing more toward the camera. We also have Gandalf (Ian McKellen) looking wizardly and forlorn. He’s so young, he’s practically Gandalf the Brown!
“This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL is in theatres and IMAX December 2011.”
